Mission

ARA’s NASA SL Team is officially registered to represent the University of Alabama along with other universities from across the US at the 2025-2026 NASA Student Launch at Huntsville, Alabama where the team hopes to podium and bring back University of Alabama’s first NASA Student Launch Award!

This project team competes in the prestigious NASA Student Launch solid propellant rocket competition. The goal of the NASA Student Launch is to develop a solid propellant rocket that can a reach a predefined altitude goal and perform certain technical tasks while in flight. However, to expose participants to professional engineering experiences, NASA judges and engineers put the participating teams through their rigorous technical documentation, screening, and presentation programs
